LiveSecure is our way of advancing the safety and security of Jewish Communities.

With national fundraising spearheaded by the Jewish Federations of North America, local Federations are then able to provide the training, tools, and resources needed to protect those inside our summer camps, synagogues, and classrooms.

Jewish Federations have alwas been dedicated to the safety and vitality of the Jewish community.

Now, with LiveSecure, local Federations will have greater access to the information and resources that have guided our security procedures for years, allowing each field organization to implement their own safety measures from funding to raising awareness to installment.

Nationally, Jewish Federations of North America collaborate with global and local agencies to fight antisemitism, including the Secure Community Network – our security arm and partner, the Department of Homeland Security, National Counterterrorism Center, and most significantly, the Anti-Defamation League.

What has been done?

  • There are now over 55 Community Security Initiatives led by local Federations. Collectively, Federations are spending over $30M per year on security for their communities.

  • Nearly two decades ago, we created the Secure Community Network (SCN) to provide us with expertise on safety and security, coordinate directly with federal law enforcement and develop best practices to support local efforts.

  • Over 16 years ago, Federations’ advocacy efforts helped create the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which this year will distribute a record $180M in grants to nonprofit agencies and houses of worship to support planning, provide training and upgrade their facilities’ physical security.

  • Jewish Federations of North America's Israel Action Network (IAN) leverages the Federation network to stop antisemitism and BDS cases, whether on campus or in communities.

  • Internationally, we work with our global partners to ensure the safety of 70 Jewish communities worldwide. From Halle to Israel, we are there.

What will LiveSecure Do?

LiveSecure will broaden and deepen the security umbrella for the communities we serve.

To LiveSecure, We Will

  • help the local fundraising campaigns that are mobilizing support for existing Community Security Initiatives.

  • work to extend the umbrella of local security initiatives to each of our Federations and their respective communities that do not currently have such a program.

  • support the important work of SCN to ensure that all of our local security initiatives are at the highest standard and are coordinating to share information and intelligence between our communities and law enforcement, enhancing safety and security.

  • work to ensure that all the national organizations working to address the hate, extremism and antisemitism are working collaboratively and consistently together.

  • assist all of our Federations and Jewish institutions in applying for and utilizing the available federal grant funds.

LIVESECURE IS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS. WE DO NOT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS, BUT WE ALSO KNOW THAT WE CANNOT AFFORD TO WAIT.

The threat against Jews is ever-present. And it is our responsibility to protect each other so that everyone can practice their Judaism freely and proudly.
